Ski Amadé

The Ski Ski amadé with 270 ski lifts and cable cars one of the largest ski areas in Europe. It comprises a total of 25 places, all located in the Austrian provinces of Salzburg and Styria.

History

End of the 1980s, mountain railways and tourism organizations joined forces in the entire region Pongau ( Salzburg). First, there was a mutual recognition of lift tickets, and later an advertising community. In 2000, 270 lifts and 25 municipalities joined together and installed the Ski amadé civil law, established in Radstadt.

Contractual basis for the collaboration of lift and cable car companies is a written cooperation and sales distribution agreement. This covers not only all regions combined ski pass and the related decision-making, control and revenue sharing issues, but prohibits the individual ski resorts also offer ski passes or lift tickets for the individual regions. The cooperation agreement has also provided for small ski areas a central pricing.

During the growth phase was found in a decision of 10 November 2003 by the Cartel Court, " that the collusion of prices by the members of the Amade 'ski [ ... ], the agreement on the local area for which the cards are valid, and the ban on the issuance or actual non- supply of tickets for the lifts, only individual regions within the Amade 'ski is subject to the Competition Act. " amadé the Labour and Ski have subsequently agreed in negotiations to sign the ski to the Cartel Court. The agreement scoring provides that ski amadé releases the pricing of day tickets from the ski season 2004/ 05.

Ski amadé made great promotional efforts in recent years and is also often present in the media, if not always positive, as the coverage of the high-price policy and the antitrust allegations show. In several lawsuits, the company in Austria tried to gain domain amade.at, this claim for relief were dismissed for lack of presence of domain grabbing. In Germany, the ski resort advertises with the slogan Live action - in Ski Amade. The advertising song comes from the Austrian band Opus and Life is called live, which is a one hit wonder in 1985.
