Ski Apache

Ski Apache is the United States, the southernmost ski resort in southern New Mexico. It is located in Ruidoso at the foot of the Sierra Blanca Peak, whose height is about 12,000 feet or 3660 meters. Belonging to reserve the Mescalero Indians, it is also operated by them. The ski area is the use of location of New Mexico's only gondola, also 8 chairlifts and 2 surface lifts that can carry up to 16,500 people per hour. The ski area is spread over 3 square kilometers and has 55 pistes ( 11 blue, 17 red, 27 black ). It is also open to snowboarders.

Ski Apache is the home of speed skier and Mescaleros Ross Anderson, with 247.93 km / h holds the world speed record in the Western Hemisphere.
