Å koda 15 T

The Škoda 15T (also known as Škoda ForCity ) is a low-floor articulated tram - type railcar by Czech manufacturer Škoda Transportation sro from Plzeň.

Prague

The vehicle was developed between 2005 and 2008 for the Prague public transport company. The three-piece Škoda 15T are the successor who also produced by Škoda five- 14T. 250 this means vehicles with 100 % low-floor area has ordered the city of Prague. The first car since October 6, 2010 in Prague in trial operation with passengers.

Riga

In May 2008, the transport authority of Riga ordered 20 sets with an option for a further 32 vehicles. These decorated in blue and white paint vehicles get a gauge of 1524 mm. The first prototype was delivered in June 2009. The delivery of all twenty vehicles took place until March 2011. A second series is to be delivered from 2012.

Other

Škoda took part in Rostock and Helsinki in invitations to tender for tram vehicles. Both times it was defeated.

Currently, the manufacturer is applying with these vehicles in a tender the Zurich transport services and one is prosecuting the tender conditions of the Essenes transport company, since they were set too restrictive, according to Skoda.

In Chemnitz 2012 was carried out on line 5 of CVAG weekdays from late April to late May, a test using this type of vehicle.

Technology

The 15T has four bogies. The end and intermediate cars are each connected to a Jakobs truck that end cars additionally have a normal truck.
