Å krlatica

The Škrlatica is a mountain in the Julian Alps in Slovenia, with a height of 2740 m. i J. The well-known for its rugged rock walls Škrlatica forms the highest point of the Škrlatica - Martuljek group. In each case, more than 1500 meters deep mountain falls towards the east into the Vrata valley and west from the Krnica Valley. About the southern ridge leads a secured path to the summit.

First ascent

Only in 1880 the ascent of Škrlatica by Julius Kugy succeeded together with the two mountain guides Andrej Komac and Matija Kravanja. Previously, many summit attempts had failed.
