Skvyra

Skwyra (Ukrainian Сквира; Russian Сквира / Skwira ) is a town in Ukraine's Kiev Oblast with 16,800 inhabitants ( 2012). The first mention of the city in 1390. Received the status of a city Skwyra 1938. County to city heard next Skwyra the village Kononiwka ( Кононівка ). Skwyra is the administrative headquarters of Rajon Skwyra and lies on the River Skwyrka ( Сквирка ), a 45 km long tributary of the Ros. The capital of Kiev is located 125 km northeast of the city.
