Slatko

Sladko, Serbian slatko (of Bulgarian / Serbian for "Sweet " ) refers to a series of jam specialties, which include both the Balkan cuisine as well as to Jewish cuisine. Traditionally, these jams are served on a small glass plate along with a teaspoon and a glass of water. Sladko differs from usual jams in that the sugar is first boiled alone to a syrup, which you then add the fruit.

For Sladko also ingredients are used, some of which are unusual in Central European flavor. So knows the East European Jewish cuisine variants in which radish cooked in honey or jam from carrots or beetroot is made.
