Slave Labor Graphics

Slave Labor Graphics, SLG, or simply, is an American independent comic book publisher based in San Jose, California.

History

The publishing house was founded in 1986 by Dan Vado of SLG today. From the beginning, the independent publisher had set a goal to publish comics and graphic novels independently and outside of the mainstream. In the more than 20 years of its existence, Slave Labor Graphics has so you can conquer an established customer base and a permanent place in the American comic book market. In this case, the publisher publishes the comics of well-known artists and writers, but also sets a great extent on newcomers.

The first comic book was published by SLG 1986 Shadow Star # 3, the first major success came in the first year with Samurai Penguin # 1 by Dan and Mark Buck one. With few exceptions, the first titles published by friends and acquaintances Vados were created. However, until the mid-1990s SLG remained a small niche publisher. In the following years, there were mounting successful titles that were published by SLG. 2005, the publisher entered into a partnership with the Walt Disney Company, who released his music some Disney comic series. The comics of SLG, mostly alternative comics, often offer a dark and quirky black humor and aimed mainly at adult readers.
