Slavko Janevski

Slavko Janevski [ sɫafkɔ janɛfski ] ( Macedonian Славко Јаневски; born January 11, 1920 in Skopje, † January 20, 2000 ) was a Macedonian writer and employees of the intelligence services.

Life

Janevski graduated from the technical school in Skopje. During the Second World War, he lived in Belgrade, but returned after the war back to Skopje. There he worked as publishing director and editor for various magazines. Janevski was a member of the Macedonian PEN and the Macedonian Academy and President of the Macedonian Writers' Association. He has received numerous awards of the Yugoslav state.

A completed in June 2013 against lustration Janevski came to the conclusion that the latter had made ​​reports of other writers and artists for the Yugoslav secret police UDBA under the code name " Slavjan ".

Works

Slavko Janevski was one of the first and major figure of the young Macedonian art making in communist Yugoslavia. He has written numerous short stories and novels, poetry, children's books, essays and screenplays.
