Slavo Kukić

Slavo Kukić (* 1954 near Posušje, Yugoslavia ) is a Bosnian politician and sociologist.

He teaches as a professor at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Mostar, he has next to lectureships at the Universities of Sarajevo and Split.

In June 2011, the non-party, believed to be ethnic Croat Kukić was the proposal from the Socijaldemokratska partija of Bosnia and Herzegovina nominated by the State Bureau for the post of Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The vote in Parliament on 29 June 2011 voted 21 for and 14 against MPs Kukić; the dissenting votes came from representatives of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina, HDZ, HDZ 1990, and by all participating in the voting representatives from the Republika Srpska. Thus, choosing Kukićs had failed because an agreement of at least one-third of the deputies of the three major population groups ( Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats ) would have been necessary. After the vote Kukić announced until early August put together a government of the then must vote by Parliament.

After about 15 months without a government Vjekoslav Bevanda (HDZ ) was elected Prime Minister in January 2012.
