SLC25A11

The α -ketoglutarate -malate carrier (OGC ) (also 2- mitochondrial malate oxoglutarate carrier protein gene: SLC25A11 ) is that protein which facilitates the exchange of α -ketoglutarate and malate through the inner membrane of mitochondria. It is one of two transport proteins in the malate - aspartate shuttle and thus essential for energy metabolism in eukaryotes.
