Sleeping People

Sleeping People is an American band from San Diego, California. A characteristic feature of their music is the use of complex rhythms and dissonant guitar lines, which is why it is often associated with the genre of math-rock, for these stylistic devices are determinative.

History

The band started in 2002 initially as a trio consisting of Kasey Boekholt (guitar), Joileah Maddock (guitar) and Brandon Relf (drums). With Kenseth Thibideau (including Pinback, Rumah Sakit ) on bass in 2003 finally completed the four-piece line-up. Their self-titled debut album they released in 2005 on the New York label Temporary Residence Limited. In the same year, however Joileah Maddock left the band and was temporarily replaced by her friend Amber Coffman, before returning again in 2007 Sleeping People.
