Slit-scan photography

Slitscan is a recording technique in film and photography. The film is moving past a narrow strip or slot and exposed therethrough. In digital image technology, this can be accomplished by appropriate image processing. The most famous movie scene with this technique is in the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey to find.
