Slok Air International

Slok Air International, was a Gambian airline based in Serekunda and base on the Banjul International Airport.

History

The Slok Air Gambia was founded on 24 September 2004. Its origins date back to Slok Air, which has emerged from the group of Slok Nigeria. In advance of this company were withdrawn in March 2004, the aviation license by the Nigerian government. Subsequently, the airline was dissolved in November of the same year and Slok Air International founded shortly thereafter new in Gambia.

After a stoppage of about three months of flight operations on 8 February 2008 was resumed. The machines were overhauled in Addis Ababa because of " technical problems ". Already in mid- July 2008 published the Daily Observer Gambia of an article that had fallen into financial difficulties after the Slok Air and salary payments to staff had already fallen two months behind. For this purpose also attached information in the online edition of The Point Gambia, after it apparently would also dispute over unpaid bills for kerosene deliveries of April 2008 at Slok Air.

According to several sources, the company has since permanently ceased operations, the website no longer exists.

Destinations

Until the termination of the flight operations were flown from Banjul from Abidjan, Accra, Bamako, Conakry, Dakar, Freetown and Monrovia. Monday and Thursday flights were offered last.
