The court Sloppy Joe was first prepared in the same bar in Key West in the U.S. state of Florida. The Sloppy Joe's was one of the bars, frequented the Ernest Hemingway. It was registered in 2006 in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places (National Register of Historic Places ).
