Sloupno (Hradec Králové District)
Sloupno is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located two kilometers north of Nový Bydžov and belongs to Okres Hradec Králové.
Geography
Sloupno is located on the right side of the Cidlina to their sidearm Mlýnská Cidlina on the East Bohemian panel. West of the town leads past the railway line Velky Osek - Trutnov, nearest railway stations are Nový Bydžov and Skřivany.
Neighboring towns are Skřivany in the north, and Podoliby Chmelovice in the northeast, Králíky in the east, in the southeast Prasek, Metličany and Nový Bydžov in the south, Stara Skřeněř the southwest, Stary Bydžov in the west and Křičov and Ovčín in the northwest.
History
The first mention of Sloupno place in the year 1278th By the end of the 15th century the feasts of the manor of Vladikengeschlechter Kordul, Hernýk, Heřmanský and Sádovský of Sloupno served. After 1487 went out the festivities. 1516 acquired Wilhelm II of Pernštejna parts of the rule Sloupno and beat these goods to the rule Chlumetz. Other owners were in 1521 Vojtěch of Pernštejna ( 1490-1534 ) and after his death his nephew Jaroslav, Vratislav and Vojtěch. 1553 built on the banks of the Cidlina a new festivals. Pernštejnové selling their possessions to Jan Klucký of Libodřice. Later Sluopno belonged to the Materna of Květnice and Přítoc. From their bought Albrecht of Wallenstein in 1628 the goods. 1636 rule Sloupno was confiscated and made Count Nikolaus Desfours to the present. His heirs sold Sloupno 1665 Adolf Wilhelm Harant of Polschitz. Hrant sold the rule in 1672 to the Abbey of Břevnov. Meanwhile Abbot Thomas Sartorius had rebuilt the fortress into a summer residence. In addition, the convenient location halfway mark between Braunau and Břevnov Sloupno served as Umspanne when traveling. 1686 bought the Benedictines still from the rule Smidary the yard Podoliby on which later the village Chmelovice has been created, the Neuhof, on which the settlement Opatow was taken, and Kralik. 1843, Sloupno 637 inhabitants.
After the abolition of patrimonial Sloupno formed in 1850 a municipality in the district of Nový Bydžov. In 1921, 905 people lived in Sloupno. 1948, the assets of the Benedictines and the castle were expropriated. Since 1961, the community is part of the Sloupno Okres Hradec Králové. Between 1980 and 1990 Sloupno was incorporated to Nový Bydžov.

Attractions
- Castle Sloupno, the former Renaissance fortress was remodeled in 1687 by Abbot Thomas Sartorius baroque summer residence. In 1748 under Abbot Benno Löbl, designed by Kilian Ignaz Dietzenhofer a renewed conversion.
