Slovenian Air Force and Air Defence

Slovenia's air forces are part of the Slovenian Armed Forces and Slovenian are subordinate to the Ministry of Defence.

History

The Slovenian Territorial Defence was founded in 1993, the nucleus of the Slovenian Army. Slovenia's air forces today are not independent strike force more.

Equipment

Aircraft

The air forces have no combat aircraft, but about eleven Pilatus PC -9 training aircraft. In addition, are light aircraft of type Zlin Z -242 and Z- 143L and the transport aircraft L -410 Turbolet in use. As a helicopter Bell 206 JetRanger three, eight Bell 412 and Eurocopter AS 532AL Cougar four are used.

Air defense

The air defense force has the portable missile system SA-18 Grouse, the antiaircraft cannon tank BOV -3 and the anti-aircraft missile system Roland.
