Slum Village

Slum Village was a hip hop group from Detroit, Michigan. It was founded by the rapper Baatin, T3, and producer / rapper J Dilla. In 2010, the group split up.

History

Their first album, Fantastic Vol 2 was released in the summer of 2000 and was produced entirely by J Dilla. In 2001, after the departure of J Dilla, who wanted to concentrate on his solo career, committed a new member: The rapper Elzhi. In mid-2002 they released their second album, Trinity ( Past, Present and Future), it was their first album with a major label. At the controls were Scott Storch, DJ Hi- Tek, J Dilla and others. 2003, there was again a departure for Slum Village, Baatin left the group due to his schizophrenia. In July 2004, appeared Detroit Deli ( A Taste of Detroit ). Guests Kanye West, Ol ' Dirty Bastard, Dwele and John Legend had it, it was their last album for Capitol Records. 2005, the third album by Slum Village released on her own label, Barak Records. In year 2006 Slum Village a European tour and were among others at Splash in Chemnitz. For the end of June a new album called "The Evolution " was announced.
