Smif-N-Wessun
Smif- N- Wessun is an American hip hop crew from New York. She is also known by her second name Cocoa Brovaz crew, they had to accept after a dispute with the company Smith & Wesson. Currently the group but again uses the old name. The crew is made up of rappers Tek and Steele. Both come from the borough of Brooklyn, they have given her pseudonym Bucktown. They are under the label Duck Down under contract.
Career
Tek and Steele got to know in 1993. In their area they learned Ruck aka Sean Price and Rock aka Heltah Skeltah; Buckshot, 5ft and Evil Dee known as Black Moon; Starang Wondah, Top Dog and Louieville Sluggah, known as OGC know. All crews together form the Boot Camp Clik. Tek & Steele published in 1995, their debut album Dah Shinin under their former crew names Smif'n'Wessun. The company Smith & Wesson saw too great a similarity in name and after a three year legal battle Tek & Steele eventually changed their name in 1998 in Cocoa Brovaz crew. In the same year the sophomore The Rude Awakening followed. Published in 2004 a Best Of album with the title Still Shinin. Then all tracks, remixes and freestyles are included by the two rappers. In 2005, she earned her album Reloaded, now again under the name Smif'N'Wessun out. Guests such as Tony Touch, Talib Kweli, Dead Prez, Da Beatminerz are represented on it.
