Smiley Smile is a music album by the American group The Beach Boys. It was released on September 11, 1967. The album was produced by the Beach Boys.

Genesis

After the highly acclaimed Pet Sounds album, Brian Wilson rushed to the work on the planned successor Smile. The first song for the album, which he wrote with Mike Love, was Good Vibrations. To add this song needed the Beach Boys six months. They worked in four different studios, as Brian Wilson was of the opinion that each studio had its own sound. The Smile project should be published as a concept album. Brian Wilson worked closely with Van Dyke Parks, whom he had committed as a copywriter for this album.
