Smilja Avramov

Smilja Avramov (* February 15, 1918 in Pakrac ) is a Yugoslav law scholar.

She studied law at the University of Zagreb, was employed by the prosecutor's office in Novi Sad and Belgrade and received his doctorate in 1950 at the University of Belgrade. There she was a lecturer, from 1960 extraordinary and from 1965 Associate Professor of International Public Law. From 1973, she was also the proprietor of the Department of International Law and International Relations.

She was President of the International Confederation for Disarmament and Peace.

In the 1990s, she was a consultant of the Serbian politician, Slobodan Milošević. From 1996, she served on the Senate of the Republika Srpska. 2011 Ratko Mladić chose them as a member of his defense team for his trial before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.
