Smøla

Smøla is a place on the eponymous island Smøla in Central Norway and at the same time a municipality in Fylke (administrative district ) Møre og Romsdal. History

According to research results of the Institute for Geodesy and Geoinformation Science at TU Berlin it should be here around the mythical island of Thule from the ancient world map of Ptolemy.

The island is one of the best preserved of Norway Rune Stones.
