Snapshot (photography)

As a snapshot is generally described as clinging to a short period of time, a moment or a ( particular) moment, for example in memory or by writing literature. In this sense, Heinrich Böll reported to have said: "I'm a clown, and gather moments ".

Importance in photography

In photography, the snapshot is a historical term for short exposure times. Thus allowing the exposure of 1 /30 second a shot from a steady hand, without necessitating a special Still holding the motif.

In the present, images are taken either individually by high-speed photography, or at a time at short intervals in the Chrono series photography or photography with ultra-short shutter speed.
