SNK European Democrats

SNK Evropští demokraté ( German SNK European Democrats ) is a political party in the Czech Republic, the sdružení by the union of the parties SNK nezávislých and Evropští demokraté (European Democrats ) has emerged.

The abbreviation SNK means " Sdružení nezávislých kandidátů " ( Association of Independent candidates ) the party has officially announced the designation SNK sdružení nezávislých, although in this form of the name part of the name is repeated. The original reason the founding of the party was to ensure the independent candidates (especially in local elections ) ways to make better work.

The Evropští demokraté were a liberal party, which was founded in 2002 by the Mayor of Prague in January Kasl. She went first, under the name Demokraté Jana Kasla (Jan Kasls Democrats ) on (Jan Kasl was originally to a member of the ODS). The party was being successfully in local elections in Prague in 2002.

The two parties won in 2004 in an election coalition three seats in the European elections. The ED has a nominated them ( Jana Hybášková ), the SNK two (Josef Zieleniec and Tomáš Zatloukal ). In the elections to the House of Representatives in 2006, the party gained 111 724 votes with 2.08% and did not get a seat the party lost in the by-elections to the Senate in October 2008 and two seats in the by-election in October 2012 its last seat in the Senate.
