Snoezelen

Under Snoezelen (pronounced " snuselen " ) - one of two community service workers in the Netherlands in 1978 put together fantasy creation from the two words " snuffelen " ( sniff, sniff ) and " doezelen " ( doze, slumber ) - refers to the stay in a cozy, pleasantly warm room where you can comfortably view lying down or seated, surrounded by soft sounds and melodies, light effects.

After the first experiences in the Netherlands Snoezelen was considered increasingly also in the UK and Germany around since the late 1980s. From the 1990s onwards, one can speak of a world-wide distribution. In addition to the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Canada, the USA, Australia and Japan, this idea has spread to other ten nations.
