Snooker season 2013/2014

The snooker season 2013/14 is a series of snooker tournaments that belong to the Main Tour.

A first version of the provisional calendar was released by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association ( WPBSA ) on 8 April 2013.

Compared to last year, there are a few changes to the sites of major tournaments; However, the Players Tour Championship for the first time make in Rotterdam, Doncaster and Mülheim an der Ruhr station.

In the ranking tournaments is the flatter qualification mode, which was applied in the preseason already at the German Masters in 2013 and the Welsh Open, 2013, from this season standard. Only in the Australian Goldfields Open 2013, the Shanghai Masters 2013 Snooker World Championship and the 2014, due to old contracts nor the previous mode, the 16 in the world rankings guaranteed the top a final place.

Since the 2010/11 season the snooker world rankings will be updated after each tournament in which there are ranking points. This is repeated several times in the season - the so-called cut-off points - for new seedings for the following tournaments.

Qualification for the Main Tour 2013/14 and 2014/15

In addition to the 64 top-ranked players in the world rankings at the end of the 2012/13 season and the 32 players who were guaranteed a starting place for the seasons 2012/13 and 2013 /14, received 36 more a starting place for the seasons 2013 /14 and 2014/15.
