Social Democratic Youth of Denmark

Danmarks Socialdemokratiske Ungdom (DSU ), literally Social Democratic Youth of Denmark, is the youth organization of the Social Democratic Party of Denmark Socialdemokraterne.

The organization has 2694 members (2011) under the age of 31. The members are distributed ( "Departments" ) in about 60 local associations. The departments in turn are divided into 10 regions and the boundaries follow the Danish wholesale constituencies for election to the Folketing.

The DSU is a member of Dansk Ungdoms Fællesråd DUF (literally: Common Council of the Danish youth ), the International Union of Socialist Youth Organisations IUSY. The DSU is also working with the ECOSY, as do the Young Socialists also.

The chairman of the DSU is the 27 -year-old Camilla Brejner swallow from Copenhagen ( Amager Department), which was chosen as chairman at the 39th Congress in Horsens in May 2012. The Secretary-General called Jacob K. Sørensen and comes from Holstebro in Central Jutland, but now lives in Copenhagen. He was also elected to the 39th Congress. The deputy chairman is Alexander Grandt Petersen. He is originally from Esbjerg in southern Jutland, but now lives in Copenhagen and was also elected to Congress in 2012.

The Federal Committee of the DSU ( Forretningsudvalget, FU) has thirteen members who are elected at the congress. The DSU also has a federal board ( Hovedbestyrelsen, HB), which consists of 42 members: 28 are elected to the areas and the thirteen members of the Federal Committee are also members of the Federal Executive. The Social Democratic Party of Denmark has an observer of the Federal Executive, and the Social Democratic Students' Association " Free Forum " ( Frit Forum ).
