The Social Sciences Citation Index ( SSCI abbreviation ) is an interdisciplinary citation database, which is published by Thomson Scientific and was developed by the Institute for Scientific Information. Criticism

The SSCI is often criticized. Complain Daniel Klein and Eric Chiang (2004 ), based on the economics, among other things, that essays from "left" magazines would have a disproportionately greater chance of being covered by SSCI publications as liberal economic journals.
