Socialist Popular Alliance Party

The Socialist Popular Alliance (Arabic حزب التحالف الشعبي الاشتراكي, DMG Hizb at- taḥāluf aš - ša ʿ Bī al - ištirākī, Party of People's Socialist Alliance '; short Taallof ) is a left-wing party in Egypt, which was founded in the wake of the revolution in Egypt in 2011. It belongs to the alliance " The Revolution Continues ", which she co-initiated significantly after leaving the Egyptian block.

The Socialist Popular Alliance was created in April 2011 from a merger of group Socialist Renewal with former members of the post-communist National Progressive Unionist Party ( Tadschammu ), which were withdrawn from this by disputes over the party position in the parliamentary elections in November 2010. The People's Alliance aims to be a broad coalition of radical and moderate left. Its membership includes many leftist organizations; in August 2012, the People's Alliance merged it with the Socialist Party of Egypt.
