Socialist Workers Party (United States)

The Socialist Workers Party (SWP ) (English Socialist Workers Party) is a Trotskyist -oriented Communist Party in the United States of America. It was founded in 1938 and was one of the founding organizations of the Fourth International. Until the 1980s it was with almost 1,000 members, the largest organization of the radical left in the United States.

The SWP candidate for the U.S. presidential elections from 1948 to 1960 was Farrell Dobbs. 1976 candidate Peter Camejo and, with over 90,000 votes the biggest electoral success. In the 2008 presidential election Róger Calero went to, as Vice President Alyson Kennedy.
