Society for Conservation Biology

The Society for Conservation Biology ( SCB) (German Society for Conservation Biology ) is an international non-governmental organization with the aim to prevent the loss of biological diversity. ( "maintenance, loss, and restoration of biological diversity" ) She has more than 10,000 members worldwide. SCB was founded on 5 May in 1985 in Ann Arbor, Michigan ( USA) by Michael Soulé. There are 31 subdivisions in the U.S. ( chapter ) and 13 outside the United States. The SCB publishes the Conservation Magazine, and published since 1987, the journal Conservation Biology.
