Society of apostolic life

A society of apostolic life (Societas Vitae apostolicae ) is a Roman Catholic religious orders like Communities, according to the canons 731-755 Code of Canon Law (CIC). Members of a society of apostolic life can become clerics and laymen.

Basic principles

In the Code of Canon Law are first " Common standards for all institutes of consecrated life " is established. After the " Institutes of Consecrated Life ," followed by the " societies of apostolic life ":

The members thus put off no religious vows. You can take over the binding to the instructions of the evangelical counsels. General

The Societies of Apostolic Life are asked in the parent senses under the direction and supervision of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life. The members of Societies of Apostolic Life can place a temporal promise after a few years. In life, however, they differ little from a religious community. Particularly well-known societies of apostolic life are the Daughters of Charity and the Pallottiner.
