Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners

The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners ( STEP ) is the international, professional cross-group association for practitioners who work in the area of ​​estate planning and settlement, investment management of the trust and foundation law and its attendant tax issues.

STEP was founded in 1991 by George Tasker in England and is represented in more than 75 countries. It has over 17,500 members worldwide, mostly from the legal and tax accountancy, auditing, from banking, insurance, corporate trusts and related professions.

The focus of the activity of STEP is on the education and training of members.

Full members who have proven their qualifications through at least five years of professional experience in the follow-up, Investment Trust or area or by the conclusion of its own STEP Diploma demonstrate the abbreviation TEP for Trust and Estate Practitioner may lead behind their name.

The German branch, STEP Germany, with more than 75 members, was founded in the fall of 2006 in Frankfurt am Main and is organized in the legal form of a recognized non-profit association based in Munich. President of the Board is since May 2012 Susanne Thonemann Micker.
