Södersjukhuset

Sodersjukhuset ( the Südkrankenhaus ), also briefly called SES, is Stockholm's largest hospital. It is located in the Södermalm district.

The building

The Sodersjukhuset was built during the years 1937-1944 according to the plans of architect Hjalmar Cerderström and Hermann Imhäuser. The planning went extensive research and study trips abroad ahead. The house was inaugurated on April 3, 1944 by King Gustav V and there was Scandinavia's largest and most modern hospital.
