Aluminiumnatriumdioxid or sodium meta-aluminate is a chemical compound selected from the group of metal oxides, sodium compounds and aluminum compounds, more specifically the sodium aluminate. It crystallizes in an orthorhombic structure (space group Pna21 ), which consists of eckenverküpften AlO 4 tetrahedra. The Na ions are also tetrahedrally coordinated by O 2 - ions surrounded.
Production and representation
Sodium aluminates generally occur upon exposure to sodium hydroxide to aluminum salts, the sodium hydroxide is used in excess, and a sodium aluminate solution.
Use
Aluminiumnatriumdioxid is used as a flocculant in waste water treatment, as Bauchemikalie (quick curing agent for concrete) and for the production of paints and soaps used. Of much greater technical importance is the sodium aluminate solution.
