Soeste

The Soeste at Good Steding mills

The Soeste (pronounced Söhste ) is the left frontal flow of Jümme in Lower Saxony in the Cloppenburg.

Course

The Soeste formed from two spring-fed streams in the hallways Hesselnfeld and Egterholz in the community Emstek. It flows in a northwesterly direction through the town of Cloppenburg where she already carries so much water that there used to be a water mill could be operated, what the name "Mill Street " in the Cloppenburger downtown occupied. About two other former mill sites, Steding mills and Neumühlen that Soeste flows into the Thülsfelder Dam, which was built in the 1920s. From there it flows over Friesoythe to Kampe, where it unites with the Lahe, and on to Barßel , where it flows through the " zander " at the boat harbor, and shortly thereafter merged with the Nordloher low to Barßeler deep that a little further below for Jümme is.
