Sofa Landver

Sofa Permanent Way (Hebrew: סופה לנדבר; born 28 October 1949 in Leningrad, Soviet Union) is an Israeli politician. She is a Member of the Knesset for the nationalist party Jisra'el Beiteinu and currently Minister for immigrants acceptance (English Ministry of Immigrant Absorption). The radio station Voice of Russia, according to them was the first former Soviet citizens in the government of Israel.

Biography

Permanent Way was in what was then Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg ) was born in 1949 and emigrated in 1979 to Israel. It has the academic degree of M. A. and is talking therapist. She worked in the City Council of Ashdod, was Director of the Development Company of Ashdod and the board of trustees of the Jewish Agency.

In the 1996 elections, she was elected on the list of the Israeli Labor Party Avoda in the Knesset. She was elected on the Alliance One for Israel again Avoda into Parliament in 1999 and served between August 12 and November 2, 2002 as Deputy Minister for Transport and Safety. After the 2003 elections, she lost her seat in the Knesset, but was able to return again when she nachrückte as a substitute for Avraham Shochat there in January 2006.
