Sofia (car)

Sofia was the name of a Bulgarian sports car that was manufactured mid- 1980s and 1990s in different versions. Developers and designers was Welissar Andreev ( Velizar Andreev ).

Production

1985 was the first prototype in 1986 and began work on another sports car of the type Sofia B with a body made ​​of glass fiber reinforced plastic, hinged doors and retractable headlights. It was planned to build 200 vehicles. 1989 published the final version of Sofia B in the bumper with integrated headlights and without doors. The production was supported by the engineering company Balcancar and the Bulgarian Ministry of the Machine.

In 1990, a prototype of Sofia C was developed with the engine of Ladas and presented at the Sofia Motor Show. In the same year the start of the series production for both the B Sofia and the Sofia C was released, but only a total of 72 vehicles were produced.
