SOFIM
SOFIM is a belonging to Iveco engine manufacturer. In 1973, the diesel engine factory was founded SOFIM ( Societe franco- italienne de moteurs ) in Italian Foggia together with Alfa Romeo and Saviem (Renault). From 1974 on there diesel engines for light trucks, tractors and cars about the SOFIM - 8140 engine were produced. In 1981, Iveco SOFIM. The total production figure in 2008 was about 4 million engines. The plant in Foggia - with a total area of approximately 540,000 m², in which more than 2,000 people are employed - is with ISO 9001 - Vision 2000 ( process-driven quality management ) and ISO 14000. More than 250,000 light-duty diesel engines of Iveco engine series 8100 and HPI are produced annually in this work.
Further works by SOFIM exist in Nanjing ( China), where approximately 50,000 engines / year are produced, and in Sete Lagoas (Brazil; production about 40,000 engines / year).
