Softsoap

Liquid soaps are surfactants and surfactant mixtures, which are dissolved in water and therefore present in liquid form.

Properties

Liquid soaps are mostly used in personal care products and cleaning products. The liquid soaps consist of a solution or emulsion of synthetic surfactants ( synthetic detergents ) in water. This form, in contrast to the classical, fatty acid based soap with the calcium in tap water no difficultly soluble calcium soaps, such as in the Kalkrändern the bath or the gray veil on textiles, since the solubility of synthetic surfactants is considerably higher in water with or without calcium ions. In addition, the synthetic do not respond more alkaline, so that the pH of the skin or textile rises less. Liquid soaps are often used in public toilets and washrooms, since they are due to dose a constant viscosity, and in contrast to soap mills do not form lumps. A hygienic advantage of metered detergents is that soap dispenser may be used. Thus, the contamination of the surfactant with pathogens and thus a skin contact with potentially contaminated with microbes soap bars is avoided, especially in public washrooms.

Liquid soaps have a composition similar to dishwashing detergents, shampoos, shower and bath. Objectives of the development of liquid soaps are improved dermatological compatibility, a larger foam, an improved Abspülvermögen and skin feel, and a constant moisturizing and hydration. The INCI coordinates the standardization of products and the nomenclature for the contained substances.
