Soheil Ayari

Soheil Ayari ( born May 5, 1970 in Aix -les- Bains ) is a French racing driver.

Soheil Ayari celebrated his first success in motorsport in Formula 3 in 1996, he won the French Formula 3 Championship and a year later the prestigious Formula 3 race in Macau. After the change in the formula 3000 a rise in the highest class of single seater racing cars, Formula 1, for Ayari seemed possible. Despite two race wins in the next three years, the Monopostokarriere the young Frenchman got ground to a halt.

In 2001 Ayari therefore in the French Touring Car Championship, where in 2002 he secured the drivers' title. Since 1997 Ayari was eight times at the 24 Hours of Le Mans at the start; his best finish was a fourth place overall for the team of Henri Pescarolo 2004.

Since 2006 Ayari goes for ORECA in the Le Mans Series and piloted there a Saleen S7 -R. While he did not participate in four of the five races in 2006, he finished the 2007 season along with Stéphane Ortelli as champions of the GT1 class. Here, the driving duo won in four of the six championship runs. With the merger of Courage and ORECA at the end of the year Ayari changed in the 2008 season to the Le Mans prototype and now drove a Courage LC70 ORECA. However, he and his team-mate Ortelli could finish only two of the five races in the points. At the beginning of 2009, Ayari took while at the Le Mans Series test session at the Circuit Paul Ricard in part, but drove in the series no championship run. However, he finished, Olivier Panis and Nicolas Lapierre in the 24- hour race at Le Mans in the ORECA 01 in fifth place overall.
