Soi Dao District
Amphoe Soi Dao ( Thai: อำเภอ สอยดาว ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the northern province of Chanthaburi. The Chanthaburi province is located in the eastern region of central Thailand.
Geography
The neighboring Amphoe are from clockwise from south: Amphoe Pong Nam Ron, Khao Khitchakut and Kaeng Hang Maeo Chantaburi province, as well as Amphoe Wang Sombun and Khlong Hat Province Sa Kaeo. In the East, Battambang province of Cambodia lies.
History
Amphoe Soi Dao was on 1 January 1988 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by five Tambon Pong Nam Ron were separated. Soi Dao was given on 9 May 1992 the full Amphoe status.
Attractions
In the district lies the Khao Soi Dao Wildlife Reserve ( สัตว์ ป่า เขา สอยดาว ), a 745 km ² of parkland with 85 % rainforest. The most famous attraction in the Khao - Soi Dao Waterfall ( น้ำตก เขา สอยดาว ).
Management
Amphoe Soi Dao is divided into five communities ( tambon), which continues in 68 villages ( Muban ) are divided.
The small town ( thesaban tambon) Soi Dao Tambon Sai Khao countries includes parts and Patong.
There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations" ( TAO - administrative units ).
