Soil Stradivarius

The Soil Stradivarius is a violin made ​​by the famous instrument maker Antonio Stradivari in 1714. It is considered one of his finest works, the tonal qualities are praised as unique.

The reddish painted violin was named after the Belgian industrialist and collector of violins Soil from Tournai, where she earned in 1902. Then it was bought by Oscar Bondy (Vienna), who already had the Hellier Stradivarius (completed in 1679 ) had. The Anglo-American violin virtuoso Yehudi Menuhin bought it 1950. This in turn sold it in 1986 to the world-renowned Israeli violinist Itzhak Perlman.
