Solf Circle

The Solf Circle was a resistance group against the Nazis, which was supported by some liberal critics of the regime, some conservative German elites. He emerged from former members of the SeSiSo - clubs that tea parties in the Berlin apartment of Hanna Solf, the widow of Wilhelm Solf, came together. The Solf Circle offered no active resistance in the form of a planned or attempting to overthrow. He served the exchange of regime opponents and was in touch with other opposition groups in the Reichswehr and the Foreign Office. In addition, there were links to the Communist Uhrig- Roman group and the Kreisau circle.

The Solf Circle belonged to diplomats from the Foreign Office, such as Albrecht Graf von Bernstorff, Otto Kiep and Herbert guts of black stone.

On September 10, 1943, the Gestapo infiltrated the spy Paul Reckzeh in a meeting of the circle with Elisabeth von Thadden. A result, most members of the group were arrested, so Hanna Solf and her daughter Lagi Countess of Ballestrem, born Solf. Only a few members of the Solf Circle survived the war.
