Action

Solo Sunny is the last movie of probably the most important film director of the German Democratic Republic, Konrad Wolf. He was supported by the screenwriter and co-director Wolfgang Kohlhaase. The critics praised the film about an outsider and their demands on life, but also criticized the (supposed) happy ending. It was emphasized the excellent performance of the ensemble and the crew.
Real basis of the movie is the life story of Sanije Torka. Wolfgang Kohlhaase had heard of an interview that the journalist Jutta Voigt in 1976 when he performed with her, which was in GDR times but never published. Sanije Torka is not mentioned in the film, but Jutta Voigt is mentioned in the credits as a consultant.
