Solomon Islands national rugby union team

The rugby union team represents the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific island nation located to the Solomon Islands in the Rugby Union. The team is classified as a national of the third category by the International Rugby Board (IRB ).

History

The Solomon Islands denied their first international match in 1969. 13:113 The defeat against Fiji was also the heaviest defeat in the history of the national team. There were other high losses to Samoa in 1979 and again Fiji 1983.

Presented to qualifying for the Rugby Union World Cup 2003, the Association after nearly 20 years back a national team. After a defeat against Papua New Guinea and a win over Vanuatu would retire but from an early stage. The same fate befell the team and in the qualification for the Rugby Union World Cup 2007.
