Solomon Musa

Solomon Anthony James Musa (* 1966, † January 1999) was one of the leaders during the civil war in Sierra Leone. In April 1992, Muse came along with Valentine Strasser and about 100 troops to Freetown to protest against the poor conditions in the Sierra Leone Army to demonstrate. The demonstration ended in a military coup and the fall of President Joseph Saidu Momoh.

During the reign by Strasser Musa played the role of his closest advisor. In November 1992, he was responsible for the execution of numerous high-ranking military which reaffirmed their support against Joseph S. Momoh and the alleged fall of Strasser planned (although they had been jailed since May of the same year ). From late 1992 to mid-1993 was Musa chairman of the Council of State Secretaries. Musa fled Sierra Leone after Strasser of Julius Maada Bio was overthrown. After Johnny Paul Koroma years later elected President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah crashed, Musa returned to Sierra Leone and was Chairman of the Kono District. He still had a great influence on the government and the military.

On 15 November 1998 abducted Musa with some supporters of the Italian missionary Father Mario Guerra. He demanded medicine and a link to his imprisoned wife Tina since September. End of December 1998 Musa was badly injured by an explosion in a munitions depot and died a month later.
