Solonei da Silva

Solonei da Silva ( Solonei Rocha da Silva, born April 18, 1982 in Penápolis, State of São Paulo) is a Brazilian marathon runner.

Da Silva worked as a garbage man in his hometown when he began in 2009 under the guidance of former obstacle runner Clodoaldo do Carmo with the professional training.

The following year he won on his debut over the 42,195 - km - distance to Porto Alegre Marathon in 2:15:45 h, and in early 2011 he was South American champion in cross-country running. As the Maratona di Sant'Antonio Fourth, he improved to 2:11:32 h, and at the Pan American Games in 2011 he won in the high altitude of Guadalajara gold in 2:16:37 h

In 2012, he was the London Marathon on the 18th place and won the Sao Paulo Marathon. According to a twelfth place at the Seoul International Marathon, he was at the World Athletics Championships 2013 in Moscow in sixth.
