Soloviev D-20
The Soloviev D- 20 is the first Soviet turbofan engine ( turbofan ) in series production. It was the first developed specifically for the civil aviation turbofan engine in the world.
Pawel Solovyov, chief designer at Awiadwigatel in Perm, constructed in 1960, the two-shaft turbofan engine and called this type bypass engine.
The D -20P was placed in the first Russian short- haul passenger jet Tupolev Tu -124 from 1962 in service.
It has a low -pass ratio of 1.0:1 and developed 52.9 kN ( 11,900 lb) thrust. It has a three-stage fan and an eight -stage compressor and three turbine stages. The weight is about 1.5 tons.
