Solsona (Lleida)

Solsona is a city in the comarca of Solsonès in Catalonia, Spain. It is the capital of the comarca Solsonès. The city has an area of ​​about 18 square kilometers, where 9188 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) live.

The community received its city rights during the reign of King Philip II and was raised on his request in 1593 by Pope Clement VIII to the bishopric. The medieval town center with the Cathedral and Diocesan Museum today are the main attractions of the city.

The metropolitan area is bordered to the north by the municipality of Lladurs and otherwise to the community Olius.
