SOLVIT

SOLVIT ( engl. "solve it", " solve it " or alluding to " IT " (Information Technology)) is in the European Union a free system of advisory bodies to solve problems by possibly erroneous application of EU rules. The counseling can be taken from citizens and businesses about a rapid resolution of suspected faults authorities of another Member State of the European single market in claim.

SOLVIT Centres were established in each EU Member State and in all States of the European Economic Area ( EEA) - established as part of the national administration concerned - also in Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. The applications of citizens and companies are provided basically online web form and will be handled under the authorities electronically via the Internal Market Information System ( IMI). Goal is to be as effective as possible, without recourse to solve problems on court proceedings.

The task of the SOLVIT centers is to find practical solutions to practical problems within 10 weeks. Among the instruments of these bodies include extensive knowledge of European Union law and a functioning network, have recourse to the SOLVIT centers in dealing with the authorities. Since its establishment in 2002, many SOLVIT centers have built up a network of contact points with the public institutions of their state.

The network is operated by the Member States; the European Commission, the facilities, and to support the centers, if necessary. The Commission also passes formal complaints it receives on to SOLVIT if the described therein problems likely can be resolved out of court.
